Kitchens are the heart of the home, why not make them the heart of the garden! No one wants to be inside while the party is in the garden. We design accessible, open and simple cooking, BBQing and entertaining spaces so that you can actually be with your family and guests. Here is just a small sample of what we can create for you.
Our gardens are about connecting clients to their outdoor space, Patios are a critical part of any well- designed garden. We build all kinds of outdoor living areas; concrete, natural stone, basalt slabs, hydro pressed slabs and simple steel enclosed aggregate. You name it, and we will incorporate it into your site.
Paths are a critical part of any well-designed garden. We build all kinds of connections; concrete, natural stone, huckleberry risers, basalt slabs, hydro pressed slabs and simple steel enclosed aggregate. You name it, and we will incorporate it into your site.
Adding water features not only increases your enjoyment but also because they bring in the environment – like pollinators! Whether that’s a small fountain for an urban site, or a stream for a large sprawling estate, an opportunity to attract mother nature is worth capitalizing on! We love to disguise our rain gardens and cisterns as natural elements in the garden too.
In Seattle and the greater Eastside area, the ultimate outdoor gathering spot has an element of fire. As a great way to extend the seasons spent outside, we design fire features using both wood burning and gas-fed features with various materials to best fit your preferences and the site – ranging from steel, concrete, stone, and more. We have access to 100s of custom and readily available fire features and outdoor heaters.
As a master gardener, Laura believes that no garden is complete without a space to grow veggies, whether that’s Corten steel raised beds, manufactured concrete blocks, a repurposed horse tough or wood. We will match the size, materials and location to optimize its potential in your Landscape.
At 47 degrees North we have some long “shoulder seasons”. This is where lighting plays a huge role in enjoying the garden when you can’t actually be in the garden. Subtly placed, path lights, up-lights on trees or wall wash illumination can brighten your whole evening from any room in your home.
Walls can frame the space, set the tone and create intimacy. They help the transition on difficult slopes and can screen unsightly views. We use many materials to achieve the desired effect: dry stack stone, Manufactured stone, brushed concrete, steel and basalt boulders just to name a few.

"We hired Gardenworkz ten years ago to create an extensive and coordinated landscape design for a residential 1.5 acre urban property in Clyde Hill (Eastside, Seattle area). Since then Gardenworkz has continually maintained and upgraded this design, including landscape management throughout a recent 28 month period when we built a new primary residence on the property. Now that the new home is finished and we’re moved in, the next phase is to complete the landscaping surrounding the immediate house area that was affected by the construction." -Ron F.Clyde Hill
